The Next Step: Finished
Cells March 16, 2002: Chuck inspects the first frame of queens from the cell finisher, and finds that most have "taken." He is pleased. One of the key characteristics for good breeding stock is gentleness, which is obvious from Chuck's attire as he handles these live hives.
A closer inspection shows the detail of the queen cells. The bees have begun chewing at the tips, indicating readiness of the young queens to emerge. Chuck will take these cells tomorrow to place into nucs. Next Step: Into the Nucs for Mating
